“My reflective journal: week 1”: ISP

In this new ISP we were asked to do a workshop on “Marco para la buena enseñanza“. This work consists of a group of five people (Katherine Cabrera, Belen Cuesta, Luciano Riveros, Sahra Vargas and me). Sincerely hearing this proposal by the professors, it caught my attention, since I understood that in previous years the students held debates, made newspapers, among other things.

As a group, we had to talk about Domain A in which this document deals. Domain A: is about the preparation of teaching. The criteria of this domain refer, both to the discipline taught by the teacher, as well as to the pedagogical principles and competences necessary to organize the teaching process, in the perspective of engaging all of its students with the learning, within the specific characteristics of the context in which this process occurs.

The teacher must have a deep knowledge and understanding of the disciplines he teaches and the knowledge, skills and pedagogical tools that facilitate adequate mediation between the contents, the students and the respective learning context.

However, neither the mastery of the discipline nor the pedagogical competences are sufficient to achieve quality learning; Teachers do not teach their discipline in a vacuum, they teach it to specific students and in specific contexts.  Therefore this work will help us a lot to understand how we should be as future teachers and also the fact that it is a workshop facilitates that we can be dynamic to explain and present our topic, and I’m happy in the group that I am.
